 As a workaround I created
 http://wiki.laptop.org/index.php?title=What_release_am_I_running%3F , it
 helps users go from a build number to a release — so long as they
 can find this page.

 Also,
 {{{
 cat /etc/issue
 }}}
 displays "stream 8.2", which is related to the user's release.
