Comment:

 Have you changed date/time or timezones? I think I managed to get a couple
 of Journal items created for a future date once during testing the Control
 Panel, after returning to my normal time zone (GMT+1 currently). Think
 they stayed at the top till next ~day and I caught up – but can't be sure,
 it was a while ago.
