eSpeak on the OLPC stable build is currently at version 1.31. More recent
versions include major improvements to Spanish, French and Mandarin, as
well as improvements to English/US, Afrikaans, and Polish, and fixing
certain letters / foreign words in Italian, Russian and Cantonese. There
are also new languages Tamil, Turkish, Kurdish, Latin American Spanish and
Indonesian, and a few bugs and segfaults fixed (including crash on some
very long words, premature exit on empty sentence, etc).

If anyone is using eSpeak to learn the above-mentioned languages then
they'll want these fixes. (I don't know all those languages but I know
eSpeak's Mandarin was much worse in 1.31 than it is now, and I dread to
think someone would want to learn from 1.31 instead of latest stable
 release of eSpeak.)
