 Google Gears is an add-on for mozilla based browsers that enable offline
 use of various google applications (gmail is the first one coming out)

 The standard way to install it is via the http://gears.google.com URL
 which downloads and installs gears-linux-opt.xpi

 On the XO this is not currently possible.
