 Reporter: AlbertCahalan | Owner: wad

 Priority: normal | Milestone: Gen2
Component: hardware | Version: Update.1

The CaFE chip, or future alternative, should have acceleration for
numerous operations that currently must be done inefficiently on the
 general-purpose CPU. Needed operations include:

 compression: lzo, deflate, bzip2, lzma

encryption: AES and a few well-regarded alternatives

 random key generation

 error correction

There needs to be some parallelism. The CPU should be able to queue
numerous operations for each unit. DMA ability should allow easy access to
 non-contiguous memory.
