 Debian has the same issue:

 Ubuntu has a patch too:

 This issue is stopping pippy from launching for jhbuild users on Ubuntu
 Hardy.

 Chris, it appears this will affect more platforms that Debian. The other
 distros could do the same as you suggest here, but what do you suggest for
 jhbuild?
