Comment:

 Although it doesn't directly address the title of this ticket, another
 addition we are going to make is to allow the zoom level buttons to cycle
 through the available views for a given zoom level, once the zoom level
 has been reached.  That is, for instance, the Home button will toggle back
 and forth between ring and list views once the Home level is already
 shown.

 I hope that this in conjunction with the reasons listed above provide a
 solution that is reasonable in most circumstances.  Feel free to reopen
 this ticket if that doesn't prove to be the case.
