 Somehow or other, my system got to a state where Gabble was present, but
 Salut was not.  I kept checking the Neighborhood view.  Did not notice it
 ever changing from the wireless access points (plus 3 mesh-circles) that
 it showed soon after boot.  But looking at telepathy-gabble.log, contact
 had been made with a jabber server.

 How come the Neighborhood view never showed the icons for the users that I
 believe were seen by Gabble?  [My suspicion is that Gabble *would* have
 populated the Neighborhood view -- but the problem was that the earlier
 view (as drawn by Salut ?) was never "over-written".]

 G1G1.  Wireless (with access point, but neither OLPCs nor school servers
 on the mesh).  Joyride manually updated to 1918 level.
