Comment:

 Trac could use a component for generalized media playback not specific to
 a given flash, video, or audio plugin or activity.

 "Find a way to more reliably playback {YouTube, 640x480 Theora videos}"
 isn't specific to W&L or gstreamer.  Similarly, issues with interacting
 with Flash files are more general than the gnash-plugin component.
