Actually, most desktop Macs now ship with the "two button" mighty mouse,
but you're right. Historically, and also with respect to their laptops,
my comment makes little sense. :)

wouldn't want that for my child. At least give them the choice. About the
confusion eventually caused by the "x" & "o", it's not that we can change
that, can we? I still would want that choice.
This is a physical property of the hardware, which we certainly cannot
change. Future XOs may have screens instead, making it possible to swap
the graphic on the simulated mouse buttons easily.

It sounds like folks appreciate this feature, and I think that the
benefit-cost ratio on this is high enough that we can add it as a checkbox
in the trackpad CP module.
