Comment:
Actually, I think the cleanest way to handle this is to (finally!) get a
"Bundle" activity developed, which handles a variety of bundled formats
(.zip, .tar, .gz, .rar, etc.) and basically presents a standard tree-view
on the contents, with some nice ways to move things into and out of the
bundle, reorganize it, change its type, and perhaps even preview or launch
things within it.
Then, anything in the Journal of one of these bundle types can be easily
opened and manipulated. The ability for Browse/Library to actually reveal
anything within any specially tagged/formatted bundles is just icing.
I'll going to take the action item to design a basic mockup for what
"Bundle" should look like, in the hope that we can get a basic one up and
running without too much effort, perhaps by engaging the community to
build it for us. I'll aim to have a mockup or two ready in time to develop
a simple version for 9.1.0.
