 Instead of plugging the USB flash drive [8C48-527A] into the XO, I have
 now plugged it into an USB hub, which then is plugged in to the XO.  At
 least once, when I booted the XO with that flash drive inserted into the
 hub, that flash drive was recognized and was mounted by Journal.
 [Whereas, despite multiple tries, I was not able to get the XO to
 recognize that same drive when it was plugged in to the XO itself.]
 However, though I clicked on 'Unmount' in the Journal (and the drive's
 icon disappeared from the bottom panel of Journal), doing 'df' in Terminal
 still showed that flash drive, and an attempt to manually 'umount' it
 returned "device busy".
