olpcrd code is already doing a modprobe, this shouldn't impact many
people. Anyone updating from a stable .22 to .26 will have to rebuild an
initrd anyways. Anyone updating from a kernel before this commit to a new
one will have to do so too, but I imagine that to be smaller number of
users who are developer types anyways and can probably do this to module
in there. (If not, send them my way...)

Not true. I've done a number of upgrades from 2.6.22 to 2.6.2[56] without
 ever regenerating my initrd.

This is going to break things for people in unexpected ways ("hey, i
upgraded the kernel rpm to test $foo and now the machine no longer boots
for me!"), and the benefits are not clear to me (we're going to _possibly_
save some suspend/resume time by disabling functionality? ).
