 I've split this last item off into a separate TRAC ticket, #7325.   This
 is clearly a subtle bug in an optimization in ThumbnailMorph, triggered
 only in the specific circumstance where you remove a Sketch which is the
 last-remaining item in a Holder, then drop that same Sketch back into the
 same Holder.  As you observed, it is a display glitch only, not a
 computational issue.  Indeed, if you hit alt-r (or choose 'restore
 display' from the desktop menu) you'll see that the readouts immediately
 come right.
