 i just want to chime in and say that there's a reasonably serious bug (in
 that there's no workaround that i know of) in current evdev that prevents
 some external pointer devices from working correctly.  i believe if's
 fixed in unreleased upstream code (i.e., it's not in 1.2).

 note that i have no firm notion of how this relates to the in/exclude of
 evdev, except that it may add to the overall evdev background.
