#7262: When idle, X display is corrupted (vertically smeared)
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
 Reporter: erikg | Owner: bernie
     Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: high | Milestone: Never Assigned
Component: x window system | Version: olpc-3
 Keywords: | Verified: 0
 Blocking: | Blockedby:
-----------------------------+----------------------------------------------
 To reproduce on olpc3-17:

  * Let sugar sit idle for some time.
  * X will enter a state which appears to be sleep (?).
  * In this state the screen shows vertical smear-like artifacts which span
the entire screen (top-bottom black/gray streaks).

Observe that the pattern depends on the display prior to the (sleeping?)
of the X server. Sitting on the home view causes a vertical streak to
appear in the middle of the screen, corresponding to the XO icon in the
center of the screen. Sitting in the terminal causes darker streaks to
appear where there is text on the screen and lighter streaks to occur
 where there is mostly background.
