On olpc3-17: Linux startup completes and we are left sitting in the
virtual terminal until we fiddle with the keyboard.
To reproduce on a laptop running olpc3-17:
* Start up.
* Observe that the system waits in the virtual terminal with a login
prompt.
* Press return, switch the virtual terminals with alt+left or alt+right.
* Observe that X starts within several seconds.
At first I wasn't sure if there was a correlation between X startup and my
attempts to login (hitting enter, alt+left/right, etc.), but it appears
that the system will sit indefinitely (overnight in some cases) until it
receives some keyboard input.
