 This is joyride-2000.

 In the journal, I tried to mark a bunch of things by clicking
 on the star icon. (not that I know what this will do; there is
 no explanation anywhere)

 From the moment I click to the moment I get a star, it takes
 about 1 second. This is bad enough that I tend to click it a
 second time, feeling that the first click may have been ignored.
 The slowness is a killer for usability. I want to click-click-click
 right down the column, but I have to pause and wait quite a long
 time for the software to catch up with me.
