 (joyride-2228) The control panel's network module forces you to enter a
 jabber server name even if you don't want to use a jabber server.

 Example case: A number of XOs connecting to an AP for lower traffic, but
 with no internet access or local jabber server access. You can currently
 type in some garbage non resolvable string and the jabber (gabble I think)
 connection will fail and fall back to showing local buddies (salute I
 think).

 Another example case is where you do have internet access via an AP (and
 potential access to remote 3rd party jabber server), but want XOs to
 communicate locally and not try and eat the external bandwidth to some 3rd
 party public server.

 (With the latest changes to Chat this – almost but not quite smoothly –
 allows several heterogeneous machines to chat to an XO on a local network
 over bonjour/zero-conf).
