Comment:

 Simon, how hard would it be to implement the logic described above, via
 which the 'check' button would be insensitive until changes are made?  If
 this isn't hard to do, it's worth trying to do for 8.2.

 If we do that, it might also be appropriate to switch the button in the
 main dialog to a 'check' button once a change has been made in a sub-
 module, consistent with the logic.
