Comment:

 Yeah, this was definitely a concern of mine, and one of the reasons I
 hesitated to make search behave this way.  The other option we have, of
 course, is to simply remove the search field from the favorites view, but
 that doesn't seem ideal either.  I'm presently undecided; my hope is that,
 on average, most who desire to use the search will be familiar enough with
 Sugar to understand the two views, but that could be a completely invalid
 assumption.  We have no way to test, at present, without pushing it out in
 a release.

 I'd appreciate the feedback of others on the direction to take with this
 one before making a final decision.
