 I agree with this, in general.

 I was considering it the other way around, though.  That is, I thought you
 could only hit the check button ("accept") when changes have been made;
 otherwise, you cancel/leave.  So, the "binary choice" is write-changes-to-
 disk or don't-write-changes-to-disk, where the latter is only an option
 when you've made changes.  This ''slightly'' improves the cancel/done
 button on the main control panel, but I see the confusion for sure.  We
 could definitely make it ''always'' a check button instead.  But is that
 too inconsistent with the above logic I described?
