#7608: joyride 2181 freezes with Physics and Speak

 When I start either Physics or Speak, the icon starts flashing and 2-3 sec
 after that the whole machine freezes. The mouse cursor freezes and the
 keyboard is not working (neither in sugar or in Crtl+Alt+F1 console).

 If on the Crtl+Alt+F1 console, just before the freeze I get:
 snd-malloc: invalid device type 0
 (only tested this with Physics)
