Comment:

 schoolserver: added exception RegisterError that is raised on failure; do
 catch all exceptions for server.register since only catching
 xmlrpclib.Error does not include the connect errors I get (neither
 catching ProtocollError http://www.python.org/doc/lib/protocol-error-
 objects.html does work)

 favoritesview: listen for activate signal of the menuitem, display an
 alert of how the registration went and remove the menu item if the
 registration succeeded.
