#7576: Permission change to allow log-activity to view /var/messages

 An easy change as it just requires something like a chmod o+r
 /var/log/messages (I'm in the habit of doing this each time I test a new
 upgrade), though I'm not sure if this raises new security concerns (I
 don't think so). Once the permission change is made Log can be used to
 view the very useful information in messages from sugar land, rather than
 having to divert and use root in Terminal.

 Might help us get more detailed information from the field when a problem
 is encountered.
