 Howto reproduce:

 - control panel - change the color in the about_me section
 - then do 'restart later' in the alert
 - some places have the new (palettes) some the old color(xo icon in home)

 Unless we don't have those properties signal those changes a la gconf we
 can not do much i guess. The long term solution should probably be to not
 have to restart at all.

 One option would be: take the later button out which would force the
 restart or cancelling of the changes.
