Comment:

 This is actually a pretty big problem.  Nick/colors aren't unique, so
 we're not actually storing any unique identity information.  Basically,
 we're storing the "view" instead of the "model".  We need to be keeping a
 list of public keys (identities) which refer to some (presence service?)
 tables which contain nick/colors for my "acquaintances" (anyone I've
 interacted with).

 As Marco mentions, this won't change the appearance of older entries, but
 the lack of true identity info means we can't ever show meaningful info
 about that person (for instance, if we later have bio, avatar, and other
 info) or initiate actions on them (such as inviting them to an activity).
