 no_console_suspend works on stable kernel b/c of the following patch that
 was never sent upstream. Basically the serial driver makes some changes to
 the serial port upon suspend
 in b5b82df6f461e66af821bff5b51f336af92d96b6 which Marcelo's patch works
 around by restoring
 the proper kernel-requested state. I don't know that this is the right
 solution as I'm not
 sure if dwmw2's patch is correct in the first place.
