 I would like to impose a policy that nobody is to say "it can be
 documented" unless they've actually stood in front of a classroom full of
 teachers who aren't completely computer-literate and don't speak English,
 and tried to explain the behaviour through a translator.

 In this case, we're giving the teachers strict instructions that all
 laptops _must_ be registered because otherwise they'll be killing the
 network -- it has to be _simple_.

 Release notes aren't always the answer.

 Automatic registration without direct user intervention probably is.
