 I'd be very interested to know why disabling mesh autostart was fixing
 this, and why the change in {{{should_deauth_infrastructure}}} makes a
 difference too. The latter problem was that we weren't sending the
 CMD_802_11_DEAUTHENTICATE command before trying to associate again -- but
 should that have caused a failure to associate? It doesn't _seem_ to have
 caused a failure to associate -- the kernel logs suggest that it
 associated just fine.

 I don't really consider this fixed properly while we still don't know
 what's going on.
