 When playing multiple overlapping sounds in minitamtam
 (joyride-1700ish as well as older versions on G1G1 box),
 one frequently hears clipping-type artifacts on the
 built-in speakers.  It's like loud cracking/popping,
 and seems to occur even with less-than-full tamtam-
 and system-level volume controls.

 If this is so, the software should mix its notes smarter.
