 When I attempted to use save-nand, it seems to have completely obliterated
 the ext2 partition on my USB hard drive. It gave no coherent error message
 -- sorry, I don't remember exactly what it said, but it stopped with its
 usual taciturn unhelpful output.

 fsck on the partition when I eventually realised what had happened showed
 a _lot_ of errors.

 This should be simple enough to reproduce though.
