 Either by increasing the number of fill steps for network icons on the
 home view, or by putting that information on their secondary palette in
 some form (perhaps a horizontal bar?).

 I think this would be useful for kids to be able to do their own debugging
 and fine-tuning on how to orient best the antennae and laptop to get
 better connections (or a connection at all). I've been in that situation
 myself, where I am far enough from my router as to need exact laptop
 orientation and position and antennae orientation to get a good
 connection.
