Comment:

 This landed broken in joyride, because I did not adequately escape a
 dollar sign.

 I committed a fix to joyride, but due to a miscommunication (or further
 brokenness) it seems that dgilmore and wmb reimplemented the code from
 scratch and put it into olpc-utils.

 Reassigning because I'm no longer the author of the bits.
