Are you sure that Sonata is trying to write to ~/.config ?

The log shows -- Permission denied:
 '/home/olpc/isolation/1/uid_to_home_dir/10000/.config/'

Unless there was a link that I failed to notice, that looks like a write
to a directory in the "isolation" subtree. [But you are saying that
Sonata should NOT be writing there, either.]

My understanding of Rainbow is that it "isolates" Activities from each
other by assigning each to a unique 'group'. Might there have been an
ownership mis-match in the "isolation" subtree ? [I believe I've seen
other Activities having created directories and files within the
 "isolation" subtree.]

If you are right about Sonata storing its configuration data in the wrong
directory, how come my system is not impacted by Sonata in the situation
when I have Rainbow turned off ?
