 According to mstone, there's a school server currently running on mesh
 channel 1 at 1CC.  That means that I was probably using Gabble.  I can
 imagine that the problem, therefore, might be due to a misconfigured
 Jabber server.  I don't know if that jabber server is also available over
 the internet, so that I could connect from home and test it.
