Comment:

 I just tripped over this when trying to experiment with USB booting on my
 G1G1 XO.

 Granted I don't understand the reasoning here, but it seems like
 inappropriate behavior to scribble on a drive without warning.

 I also notice that plugging in a 1G stick w/700MB of files on it brings on
 a frenzy of activity that ties up the XO for a '''very''' long time.

 What's the current thinking on this?
