 The journal would benefit from a month calendar view. Each day would have
 the date and small versions of the icons for all activities in the journal
 for that day. There would be forward a month - back a month - select this
 month buttons on each month, and select-this-week buttons on the side.
 Selecting by month, week, or day would return to the regular journal with
 the appropriate time filter.
