Comment:

 The problem was that I had (inadvertently, heh) added .inputrc to not
 /versions/contents but /versions/updates.  When I went myself to
 /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/bitfrost/update/setup.py and looked
 around line 163 I found that the directory of interest was
 /versions/updates, not /versions/contents.

 I will attempt to close this ticket as user error, where user == me.
