Comment:

I tried to attach a failing file:

 [rbh00 at dell Partitas]$ pwd
 /backup/home/rbh00/audacity/Partitas
 [rbh00 at dell Partitas]$ ls -l "P #5 in G Maj - Gigue.wav"
 -rw-r--r-- 1 rbh00 rbh00 18943780 2007-04-22 14:04 P #5 in G Maj -
 Gigue.wav
 [rbh00 at dell Partitas]$

but I ended up with a python traceback whose last line was

IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device

(Let me know if you want the traceback.)

Unfortunately .wav files much smaller than this almost-19-Megabyte file do
not fail. Let me know via this ticket number, please, when the space
problem is fixed or an alternative way to send this file to you. Your
Attach page does claim that the maximum size allowed is 19MB.

Another symptom of this failure that I have noticed is in
/home/olpc/.sugar/default/data/. Two copies of the file appear, identical
to each other, with identical names except for an added "(1)" in one of
them. Before the test, df shows 44% as the Used%; afterwards, it shows
 47%.

Here is the state before I attempt to reproduce the failure:

 -bash-3.2# pwd
 /home/olpc/.sugar/default/data
 -bash-3.2# date
 Fri Jan 11 03:33:33 EST 2008
 -bash-3.2# df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
 mtd0 1048576 457896 590680 44% /

 /dev/sda1 1015008 721248 293760 72% /media/LEXAR
 -bash-3.2# free
total used free shared buffers cached
 Mem: 237852 213252 24600 0 196 119720

 -bash-3.2# ls -l

 -bash-3.2#

Now here is the state from after I've gone to Journal, clicked the USB
icon, and clicked Resume at the line for that Partita:

 -bash-3.2# pwd
 /home/olpc/.sugar/default/data
 -bash-3.2# date

 -bash-3.2# df

With a normal-sized file, "01. Time Warp.wav", about 3 MB, it plays as
expected and only one copy appears in .sugar/default/data:

 -bash-3.2# pwd
 /home/olpc/.sugar/default/data

 Hope this helps.
