 Not sure whether this is related to [ticket:5915], but both problems were
 discovered from the same machine.

 build: joyride-1520, olpc-updated via USB from joyride-1489

 this machine and the other two machines with joyride-1520 were all
 connected to mesh network 6 (school server).

 in mesh view, the other two machines could see 16 machines in total,
 including a machine named "ec-bugs", which was also connected to the same
 school server. "ec-bugs" was running an older joyride build.

 the machine in question could only see 15 machines in total, and could not
 see "ec-bugs" in particular.

 all four machines mentioned above were physically close enough that
 distance should not be the cause.
