#5900: Long video clips on SD card cause Browse and Watch & Listen to stall

The laptop is a G1G1 XO with build 653.

Short theora video clips (about 8 minutes or less) can be loaded and
played successfully in both Browse and Helix/W&L. But longer movies (my
first test was 30 min, the second was 11 min) cause Browse to hang while
launching. Watch & Listen launches but does not actually load or play the
 longer movies.

The movie files are 320x240 at 30fps for both long and short. I tried bit
rates ranging from 750 kbps down to about 200 with no change in the
results. All of the movie files are stored on a 2GB SD card (a slowish
one from Lexar) in the card slot and are launched from the Journal.

It seems to stream correctly from a nearby web server. It also plays
correctly in Browse when the video has been moved to internal flash. But
oddly enough, Journal doesn't list W&L as an option in that case.
(However, it does list Write. Resuming the video in Write causes a block
of error text to appear in the word processor.)

I can provide a sample movie file if needed, about 27-28 MB.
