 I'm using ejabberd-1.1.4-1.7.20071205svn1050.fc7.olpc, at least until
 Robert packages up a newer version...

 The version being run on jabber.l.o is older:
 ejabberd-1.1.4-1.5.20071205svn1050.fc7.olpc

 The crash on startup when mod_ctlextra is enabled is manifested in
 ejabberd's delightful "crash on startup, dumping a long cryptic message
 into /etc/ejabberd/sasl.log", which usually seems to indicate a problem
 with the .cfg file.

 I too was surprised by the c2s stuff being commented out.   But I didn't
 set up that server...
