 The topo-map crash is an interesting case, but please don't forget about
 crashing on a multi-page (but short) book like
 http://www.archive.org/download/flatlandromanceo00abbouoft/flatlandromanceo00abbouoft_bw.pdf
 , since that is more in line with the intended application of the read
 activity. Note that (the unsugarized app) xpdf does NOT crash given the
 same file as input.
