Comment:

 Discussing and testing with bemasc on IRC showed that when stream tubes
 fail. He can't even ping the other machine. Strangely when rainbow is
 turned off on both machine, he can ping the other machine.

 Also sharing activities works fine in both cases. Indicating that
 multicast works.

 So it seems that for some reason having rainbox active and/or having
 /etc/olpc-security around causes unicast networking to fail (?!).

 Reassigning this to wireless for now. We're currently still discussing
 this issue on irc, more info if we discover new things
