Curretly, gzip'ed files are opened by e-toys, which opens a program that
 does nothing useful.

Downloading anything successfully from the internet that is gzip'ed or
tar'ed requires knowledge of the commandline. wget is a solution, as is
copying things out of the datastore, but neither is a solution for
 ordinary/novice users.

Archived and compressed files (a likely format for html textbooks) should
 be usable by ordinary/novice users.

 Tested with joyride-1489
