Comment:

 yes, it would.

 But to do so, the image has to be rotated, before going to the video
 scaler. This is technically possible, but a significant implementation
 task, and we do not have the resources to expend here given other
 priorities.

 It is a good project for someone interested in getting their feet wet in
 the insides of the X Window System.
