 Just yesterday, after resuming suspend (closing lid).  Was in suspend for
 about 2-3 hours, the next time I opened it.  The Alt(gr) was "stuck" in
 the 'down' position.  Every button with international characters came up
 instead of the English equivalent.  Happened in Write, Journal, Terminal,
 and Firefox (running from Terminal). I repeatily 'slammed' down various
 keys to see if it would un-stick.... Alt, Alt(gr), Ctrl, shift, fn, hands,
 arrows, etc... several times.  No luck.

 I did a shutdown from Sugar.   Next reboot, works just fine now.

 (Thought I'd leave a note for anyone else having the same problem.)
