 Aha! I was noticing my partition table disappearing on a SD card formatted
 ext2. I haven't been able to characterize it. I thought I was doing
 something wrong.

 I'm currently running candidate 691. I recall this was happening in 656
 also.

 If it's any use - the card is a SanDisk 2G (part# SDSDB-2048-A11).
