 See #5571 for some ways of accessing the datastore from python scripts.
 Some code from there could be used to extract data from the datastore.

 Nobody from the core team will work in this ticket until some requirement
 comes from the field, but everyone is welcome to ask for help and
 directions in implementing a temporary solution.
